App translations
What are public, free software sites to translate apps?
Sites to translate apps
- zanata
- weblate
- For GNOME and affiliated projects: l10n.gnome.org, Upside is consistency of translations. Recently gained capabilities to push to gitlab/github directly.
Web Browsers
-
Running mobile-config-firefox on desktop?
It’s possible but needs some fixes, upstream is on it to fix this.
-
Alternative browsers:
-
FLX1/FLX1s: see Firefox oom’ing. Also issue on Linux mainline?
Doesn’t seem so, people use lots of tabs. Problem might be older FF on FLX*?
-
Testing firefox-mobile-config
- https://docs.postmarketos.org/mobile-config-firefox/main/installation.html
- On Debian: /usr/share/firefox-esr/
Cell Broadcasts
-
Phosh: Large CBMs are shown too low on the screen
(e.g. il has arabic, cyrillic and hebrew in one message, but message content was reported to show otherwise correctly)
-
To fix we can reproduce via python-dbusmock
-
FLX1/FLX1s: No cellbroadcasts received
Either ofono2mm doesn’t forward them or ofono doesn’t even see them.
-
Linux Mainline phones: Positive reports of received cell broadcasts on Debian Forky (for non QCom devices). Stable ModemManager release to support QCom phones still pending but 1.2.95 release candidate works well.
Misc
